Voted D.C.’s hottest neighborhood in 2015, this neighborhood is full of cape cods, farm houses and colonial-style homes. And it’s commercial district, which is along the northern stretch of Rhode Island Avenue is home to Zeke’s Small Batch Coffee Roastery, BeSpoke Kitchen, and Art Enables. In 2016, DC opened a 20,000 square foot library in the neighborhood. Woodridge sits to the north of Brentwood and Fort Lincoln, east of Brookland and south of Mt Rainier and Hyattsville, Maryland.
Thomas Crawford’s Statue of Freedom, which sits atop the United States Capitol, was cast at Clark Mills Foundry in Woodridge. Woodridge is also home for two of DC’s 40 Boundary Stones that first laid of the boundaries of the Federal District, one at Eastern Avenue and Varnum and the other at Eastern Avenue and Monroe.
