James’ extensive real estate background in both sales and marketing began in 2002 in San Francisco.
James was a successful real estate agent on a top producing team for the first five years of his career, spearheading all marketing and branding to drive listings and sales. Throughout the sales side of his career, he has participated in deals resulting in over $225 million in sales.
James founded and sold Intersect Marketing Group, a San Francisco Bay Area real estate marketing consulting and services company. He handled both online and offline marketing, developing strategies for direct mail, email and social media marketing campaigns at the brokerage, property and agent levels. With a keen awareness for marketing strategy, he transformed dozens of clients’ marketing and listing materials that resulted in a greater than 80 percent listing rate. He has worked with agents to develop marketing strategies for new-construction, multi-unit buildings, and subdivisions including a $10 million dollar rehabilitation project. He is an expert in target marketing for mailers and farming to maximize agents’ marketing budgets and ROI. His past clients rank in the top tier of agents in San Francisco, with three in the top 10 of all agents in 2013. James sold Intersect Marketing Group in 2012 and continued to work as a consultant for the new owners until returning to residential sales in February 2014.
James is an eight-year Navy Veteran (Petty Officer 2nd Class). Born in Singapore, he lived in Cork, Ireland and then moved to Cody, Wyoming before joining the Navy to “see the world.” He was stationed near Fresno, California for his entire enlistment. Post Navy he spent 14 years in San Francisco and earned his B.S. in Applied Economics from the University of San Francisco. Upon selling Intersect Marketing Group, James moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico before settling in Washington, DC.
